Plastic Fabrication

Custom Design & Design Improvement

We will take your idea or design and fabricate it to your requirements and make improvements to it if necessary. If there are techniques or materials that we feel can improve your design, we will let you know. We have many years of experience and may think of something that had not occurred to you.

Drape Forming

A technique where a sheet of plastic is softened by thermal processing. Then the plastic is placed over or into a mold and conforms to the shape of a mold. Very popular with acrylic.

Heat & Line Bending

Heat & Line bending is accomplished by heating a thermoplastic sheet material over a strip heater until it becomes soft and pliable, then bending it to the form you desire. As many plastics contain some moisture, getting it heated to just the right temperature for the right amount of time is critical to bending it and not causing it to bubble.

Laser Cutting & Engraving

Our 100 watt laser will cut many plastics. We commonly use it for acrylic. Cutting acrylic with a laser gives a polished edge. Very precise cuts can be made with a laser and we use it when parts need to be nested together, like in a puzzle. We can also engrave plastics with our laser. Engraving clear plastics gives a frosted effect to the plastic.

CNC Routing

Our 5' x 8' CNC router will cut any plastic in any thickness up to 2". It has a 25 horse vacuum pump to firmly hold down the sheet while cutting. It will precisely drill holes, add a rabbet, and cut straight lines or exotic curves.

Museum Quality (Bubble Free) Edges and Seams

All of our vitrines are museum quality. We provide polished edges with bubble free seams. The technology that we use allows us to provide these virtually bubble free seams in products that require them.

Polished & Frosted Surfaces

When needed, we polish the edges of our plastic parts. Machining leaves a rough surface that sometimes in not acceptable. If it needs a polished edge, let us know and we will make it happen. Frosting plastic is doing the opposite of polishing. We "rough it up" so that it is not clear or shiny. This is often done for lighting fixtures where a diffused light effect is desired.

Assembly & Packing

If your product requires and assembly in addition to any of the other processes, we can do that for you as well. We will make sure that your products are packed for safe transit from us to you, whether that be by UPS, Fed Ex, or on a pallet delivered by one of the many truck lines that we deal with.
